Marvin Donald Bevins
Marvin Donald (Don) Bevins, born Aug. 19, 1933, died June 12, 2004 at Southern Regional Medical Center. A loving husband, father and Korean War veteran, Bevins served with distinction in the U.S. Air Force. He had worked in corporate and fleet security for the Omni International and Marriott hotels and Goldkist Inc. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections in Jackson and was a member of Phillippi Baptist Church in Locust Grove.
Bevins is survived by his four children, Dona Powell of Hampton, Marc Bevins of Stone Mountain, Margaret Gailey of Lilburn and the Rev. Ronald Bevins of Toccoa; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Gloria Bevins of McDonough.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Cannon-Cleveland Funeral Directors on June 16 with the Rev. Joey Seabolt officiating. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
