Some would say Riverdale Police Capt. Robert Fuller had an ideal assignment this past weekend.
He literally got to camp out at the local doughnut shop.
Fuller was participating in the "Cops on Doughnut Shops" fundraiser, part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics. Early Friday morning, with the air still well chilled by the winter storm that had swept through the Atlanta area the day before, Fuller set up his campsite on top of the Krispy Kreme doughnut shop on Ga. Highway 85 where he would remain until 6 p.m. Sunday.
Law enforcement officers around Atlanta were doing the same thing at other Krispy Kremes, but Fuller was the only officer up on the roof in Riverdale.
"Too much snow, I guess," Fuller said.
He did have some help from fellow officers stationed at the door of the doughnut shop selling Special Olympics T-shirts and hats as well as candy. By 10 a.m. Friday Officer Silvia Davis had collected around $164 from the sale of the
