A Lovejoy High School student was killed in a car accident on Fitzgerald Road about half a mile south of Mundy's Mill around 8:44 p.m. Saturday evening. Kimberly Ann Robinson, 17, was taken by helicopter to Atlanta Medical Center and later pronounced dead, said Clayton County Police Capt. Jeff Turner. The driver of the vehicle in which Robinson was riding, 17-year-old Vincent Henry Brookins Jr. of Hampton, was charged with vehicular homicide in second degree, driving too fast for conditions, failure to maintain his lane. He is also a student at Lovejoy High School. Brookins and another passenger, Louis Puryear, 17, of Hampton, were taken to Southern Regional Medical Center following the accident. It is not known if they were injured. Turner said the area on Fitzgerald Road was the site of a double fatality about two years ago. "It's dangerous if you're speeding," Turner said. "If they abide by the speed limit it wouldn't be a problem."More like this story
