Ware's house pulled from auctions

By Greg Gelpi

Clayton County Board of Education Chairwoman Nedra Ware had her house removed from the auctioning block Tuesday.

Ware's house was to be auctioned on the courthouse steps Tuesday for failing to make payments on a mortgage loan.

Morris, Schneider & Prior, L.L.C., the law firm hired to collect on the debt, said the auction was "canceled," but wouldn't explain as to why it was canceled.

The chairwoman defaulted on a $30,000 loan she obtained in 1999 on her Riverdale house.

The law firm announced in March that the house at 8324 Creekridge Circle in Riverdale would be auctioned "because of default under the terms of said Security Deed and Note, including but not limited to the nonpayment of the indebtedness as and when due."

Ware couldn't be reached for comment.
