Dixon Grove Baptist Church, 7690 Fielder Road, Jonesboro, is hosting a Community Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The entire community is invited. There will be all kinds of health screenings, such as dental screening, nutritionist, finger printing for kids, massage therapist, body cleansing, and much, much more.

To celebrate Senior Adult Month, the Clayton County Senior Center will host a "Just For You" dance May 28 from 6 to 10 p.m. Anyone age 55 and older may register to enjoy a time of fellowship and dancing. The event also includes a dance contest, heavy refreshments, door prizes, and a few surprises. The event is free but space is limited. Register today. To help prevent seasonal shortages the American Red Cross is conducting a blood drive at their South Metro office, 675 Southcrest Parkway, Suite 120, Stockbridge from noon to 5 p.m. May 29. All participants will receive a T-shirt and will be eligible to win tickets to Six Flags Over Georgia. Most healthy people who are at least 17 years of age and weigh at least 110 pounds are eligible to give. Every donor must provide identification. Clayton Alliance for Summer Theater (CAST)is holding auditions for its CAST 15th Anniversary Spectacular. Those wishing to audition for dancing or singing roles must be age 15 or older. Singers are required to have a prepared song, approximately one minute long. Auditions are from 5 to 9 p.m. June 3 and from 6 to 10 p.m. June 4. The program begins June 7; rehearsals are from 6 to 9:30 p.m. daily. A new Al-Anon meeting for friends and families of alcoholics is starting up on June 5 at Henry Medical Center, 1133 Eagles Landing Pkwy. in Stockbridge. Meetings take place from 8 to 9 p.m. in the Education Building, upstairs in Classroom F.

The 13th annual Taste of Clayton takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. June 11 at Stately Oaks in Jonesboro. More than 20 restaurants, food service providers, caterers and celebrity chefs will provide guests with a sampling of their best food items. Tickets are $18 in advance for adults and $20 at the gate; $15 for senior citizens; $10 from ages 4 through 12 and children under three are admitted free. Forest Park and Fort Gillem will co-host a Youth Fishing Rodeo for youngsters age 13 and under (an adult must accompany all anglers) June 12 at Stephens Lake on Fort Gillem. Registration is from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and the contest runs from 9 to 11 a.m. Snacks are served from 11 to 11:30 a.m. and the awards and prizes are handed out from 11:30 until noon. A limited quantity of bait is available free to anglers. Anglers may bring their own bait as well. However, it must be live or cut bait only, no artificial lures. Plan to fish for bass, bream or catfish. All anglers must provide their own rods, reels fishing poles and tackle.
