Kay Frances Huffman, 72, of Stockbridge, Ga., died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at the home of her stepdaughter, Laraine E. Stewart, Donald A. Stewart in Phoenix, Ariz., surrounded by her loving family.
Born Kay Frances Gilkerson, Sept. 5, l93l, in Columbus, Ohio, Kay was the featured vocalist/percussionist with the "Frances Kay Trio" founded by her husband and bassist, Donald T. Huffman, who preceded her in death on May 27, 1995. Kay Huffman was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Stockbridge and of the Daniels Drive Baptist Church, also of Stockbridge. Kay passed away with full faith in Jesus Christ.
A private graveside ceremony will be conducted by her family on Sunday, May 30.
Kay is survived by her stepdaughter, Laraine E. Stewart, Donald A. Stewart; granddaughters, Jean, Margaret, Vianna and Mona Stewart, great-granddaughters, Melanie and Jamie Stewart, all of Phoenix, Ariz.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to the Daniels Drive Baptist Church in Stockbridge, Ga. or Crossroads United Methodist Church in Phoenix, Ariz.
