Opal Adamson

Miss Opal Adamson, 75, of Jonesboro passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004.

She was a homemaker and lifetime member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Reynolds officiating. Remains will be placed in state at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include her brothers, D.C. Adamson of Jekyll Island, Marcus Adamson of Stockbridge and Hansel Adamson of Hampton; sisters, Marian Waters of Hampton, Betty Benefield of Jonesboro and Jeanette Eddleman of Jonesboro; 21 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church Building Fund, 7102 Mt. Zion Blvd., Jonesboro, GA 30236. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Tony Matthew Castleberry

Tony Matthew Castleberry, 48, of Forest Park went home to our Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, after a long hard battle with juvenile diabetes.

Tony's passion, grace and strength through all of his pain was an inspiration to all who knew and loved him dearly.

Tony is survived by his wife of 23 years, Becky Castleberry; son, Bobby Castleberry; granddaughter, Alyssa Castleberry; brother, Harold Castleberry; sister, Annette Whitlow; mother-in-law, Barbara Dobbins; many relatives and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Reuben Castleberry, his mother, Alma Castleberry, brother, Ronny, sister, Virginia, and father-in-law, Bobby Dobbins.

We will miss Tony greatly, but we also know that we will see him again for he is with God now.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday Nov. 6 at Pope Dickson & Son Morrow Chapel with the Rev. Hugh Crews officiating. Interment will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Helen Melbourne

Mrs. Helen Melbourne, 82, of Morrow passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004.

Mrs. Melbourne was a member of Ft. McPherson Catholic Church.

Survivors include her sons, Ralph Melbourne of Anderson, S.C. and Patrick Melbourne of Hastings Minn.; daughter, Jane Whitaker-Huegely; sister, Catherine Hayes of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Pamela, Angela, Bryan, Jennifer, Megan, Sean, Eric, and Christopher.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8 at Pope Dickson & Son Morrow Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Funeral Home.

Frances Ridings

Mrs. Frances Ridings of Jonesboro died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004.

She was a retired Real Estate Agent and a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club. She had more than 25 years of expert salesmanship with Tri-City Realty, Remax, and Adams-Mitchell Realty. She is greatly loved and admired by her family and will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7 at Glen Haven Baptist Church, with Pastor Ralph Easterwood officiating.

Survivors include her husband, Ted Ridings; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Dorman Williams; grandchildren, Lori Mason of McDonough, Dusty Williams of Covington, and Nick Williams of Stockbridge; great-grandchildren, Lakin Williams and Ty Mason.
