Pet adoption drive continues at shelters

The Henry Players present a musical comedy masterpiece by composer Cole Porter and authors Sam and Bella Spewack, "Kiss Me, Kate," at the Henry County Performing Arts Center, 37 Lemon St. in McDonough (Adjoining Henry County High School) Thursday at 7:30 p.m.; Friday at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday at 7:30 p.m. (The Saturday performance is interpreted for the deaf and hearing impaired.) and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

TYTO (Teaching Youth To Observe) is conducting "Fascinating Wildlife," a free program featuring live animals, from reptiles to birds of prey Saturday at 2 p.m. Participants must reserve spots in advance and be aware there is a $2 park pass fee. Call (770) 389-7801.

Haven House/Flint Circuit Council on Family Violence, Inc. presents their free monthly parent workshop Saturday: Encouraging Ourselves and Our Children. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the workshop begins at 10 a.m. and continues until noon. Haven House, 3234 E. Applications are being accepted for the 14th Annual Christmas in the Country Arts & Crafts Festival to take place indoors at Eagle's Landing High School from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday. The one-day event features crafters from around the state. The show can accommodate approximately 100 crafters. Booth spaces are available in 10x10 and 15x6 sizes and cost $40 each. The Dixie Wing of the Commemorative Air Force is sponsoring the Second Annual "A Flight With Eagles Symposium" at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Historical Airpower Facility, Falcon Field, Peachtree City. The program features World War II veterans of the 365th Fighter Group "Hell Hawks" who flew the P-47 Thunderbolt against Nazi Germany. Rare P-47 and other vintage aircraft, vehicles and memorabilia will be on display. The 12th Annual Holiday at Home Parade and Main Street Festival begins at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 20 at the intersection of McDonough St. and Stockbridge Road (old Highway 138). The route proceeds north to the Confederate Cemetery, crosses the railroad tracks and then turns south along Main St. to the Clayton County Courthouse. Congressman David Scott is the Grand Marshal and Parade Host Chick-fil-A founder Mr. Truett Cathy is the honorary Grand Marshal. This year's theme is "Music of the Season."
