An employee of a Jonesboro area fast food restaurant was hit in the arm by a bullet fragment during a robbery. Around 3:15 p.m. Thursday three men, all armed with small-caliber guns, entered the Popeye's Fried Chicken at Tara Boulevard and Arrowhead Boulevard to rob the business, Clayton County Police Capt. Jeff Turner said. They ordered the employees to the ground but when the female employee, 25-year-old Erica Ramirez of Jonesboro, did not get down quickly enough one of the robbers fired a warning shot at her. The bullet shattered and one of the fragments grazed Ramirez's arm. She was taken to Southern Regional Medical Center for treatment. After the shooting the men fled the restaurant with an undisclosed amount of money, driving in a burgundy Buick. Police searched a nearby apartment complex after reports that the robbers had gone there, but the three gunmen remained at large as of Thursday evening.More like this story
