Flu vaccinations are available today for those who are in a high priority risk group. The Clayton County Board of Health will sell vaccines for $20 until supplies run out at Tara Health Center, 6439 Tara Blvd. Suite 17, Jonesboro; Forest Park Health Center, 685 Forest Parkway, Forest Park; and Jonesboro Health Center, 134 Spring Street, Jonesboro. Tara Health Center and Forest Park Health Center are open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Jonesboro Health Center is open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. People in a high priority risk group are: children 6 to 23 months old, people 65 and older, anyone age 2 to 64 with long term health conditions, anyone with a weakened immune system, women who will be pregnant during flu season, residents of nursing homes and long term care facilities, anyone age 6 months to 18 years on long term aspirin treatment, healthcare workers in direct patient care and household contacts and out-of-home caregivers of infants less than 6 months of age.
