From Staff Reports
The Clayton County Branch of the NAACP will have a voter registration drive at various locations Saturday and Sunday. From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the drive will be at the Morrow Wal-Mart on Jonesboro Road. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the drive will be at Atlanta Beach. The group also will reach out to voters Sunday at various churches. Dexter Matthews, the organization's president, said this year's election is particularly important because the next President may decide three or four new Supreme Court Justices and may determine whether we will have a draft in 2005. He also said foreign policy is at stake since the election could decide whether we invade other countries. "This may be the most important election in our lives, so please register and more importantly get out and vote," Matthews said in a news release.More like this story
