Girl missing after leaving Clayton school bus

By Justin Boron

A 12-year-old Riverdale Middle School student leaving her school bus was picked up by a woman off Roy Huie Road Friday afternoon, whom she recognized, but did not have permission to take custody of her, said Clayton County Police Capt. Jeff Turner.

The girl was last seen hugging the woman and entering a white older model Pontiac Grand Prix that headed toward Riverdale Road.

Dreonia Eshawn Roberts, of 129 Roy Huie Road, is 5'4", African American with black hair and brown eyes and weighs about 110 pounds.

"We don't believe it's going to qualify for an Amber-alert status" because the girl seemed to know the person and went voluntarily, he said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation had been contacted as part of the investigation, Turner said.

The driver of the car and a passenger in the car were both African American women in their mid-20s.
