Just days before the Jonesboro Lady Cardinals play in the first round of the Class AAAA state volleyball tournament, the team re-entered the state coaches' poll as the No.-10 ranked team. Jonesboro, which posted its second straight undefeated regular-season, enters the postseason with a 31-0 record. The Lady Cardinals play unranked Northwest Whitfield in the first round Saturday at Henry County High School. Mt. Zion, which also earned a spot at the state tournament, opens against No.4-ranked Ringgold at Woodstock. In Class A/AA action, Eagle's Landing Christian Academy is completing its first season as a member of the Georgia High School Association. Earlier this year, ELCA won the Henry County tournament. The Lady Chargers will play No. 10-ranked Gordon Lee in the first round of the tournament at Lafayette Morrow, Mundy's Mill and Eagle's Landing will also play in the state volleyball tournament, but will open against unranked teams. The Lady Mustangs play Camden County and Mundy's Mill takes on Glynn Academy. Both Camden County and Glynn Academy are from the Brunswick area on the Georgia coast. The Morrow match is at Marietta, and the Mundy's Mill game is Kell. Eagle's Landing takes on Lithia Springs at Woodstock. If Eagle's Landing and Mt. Zion both win, they would play each other in the second round.More like this story
