Joe Callaway Crumbley

A native of Jonesboro, Joe was an honor graduate of Jonesboro High School and Woodrow Wilson College of Law. He began law practice in Jonesboro in 1963, and was appointed as judge to the Clayton County Superior Court in 1977.
A veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, Old War Horse Lawyer's Club, MENSA, and several bar associations.
A Memorial service will begin a 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Survivors include his beloved wife Mary; daughters and sons-in-law, Carmen and Glenn Cross of Knoxville, Tenn., Lisa and Craig Bass of Kennesaw, and Dawn and Randy Williams of Canton. He was affectionately know as "Dandy" to his four grandchildren: Carter and Spencer Cross and Meredith and Matthew Bass. He also leaves a beloved sister, Gladys Sundy; brother, Howard Crumbley; mother-in-law, Esther Flanagan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Hubert and Katie Flanagan; nieces and nephews.

Peggy A. Smith
Peggy A. Smith, 74, a resident of Forest Park for 42 years, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Hapeville and also served as their school librarian for 17 years.
Mrs. Smith is survived by daughters Angela Ailinger of Forest Park, Carol Whitmire of Atlanta; son, Christopher Smith of Stockbridge; granddaughter, Christina Smith; half-sister, Shirley Rome of Baton Rouge, La.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Pope Dickson & Son Funeral Home, Morrow Chapel.
Mrs. Smith's services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30. Interment will follow at Forest Hills in Forest Park.
