Florence Mae Hoover
Florence Mae Hoover died peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at the age of 89.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Hoover, and her brother, William Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Hoover was born in Syracuse, N.Y. and later lived in Ohio, Florida and Georgia. She filled the lives of her family and friends with tenderness, love, compassion and courage. She was a dedicated wife and mother who will always be remembered for her unselfish spirit and sense of humor. She will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Hoover requested that her body be donated to Emory University School of Medicine. A memorial service in celebration of her life took place Tuesday evening for the immediate family. Pastors Jack Bartlett and Steve Shivers of Community Bible Church officiated.
Survivors include her three loving daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Ed Dye of Virginia Beach, Va., Martha and Darrell Maietta of Randolph, N.J. and Betty and Gene Ross of Morrow, Ga.; grandchildren and spouses, Brian and Clara Dye, Troy Dye, Erik Maietta, Ryan Maietta, Michael Maietta, Lisa Maietta, Aleta Tilton, Rachel and Jeff Gordon and Jessica Ross; sisters and brother, Mary Jakeway and James Fitzgerald of Florida, and Dorothy White of Michigan.
The family would like to thank Laurel Park Nursing Home of Stockbridge, Ga. for the loving, compassionate care that was extended to their mother.
