Virginia E. Dudley Bowen

Virginia E. Dudley Bowen, 81, of New Jersey, passed away Sept. 8, 2004.

Survivors include three daughters, Joan Atherley, Christina Reid and Cynthia Haskins; three sons, Keith Bowen Jr., Reginaldo and Marcelino Bowen; three brothers, Roy, Gerald and Franklin Dudley; sister Alethia Dudley; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 14, at Living Faith Tabernacle at 2 p.m. with Pastor Christopher Bowen officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday at 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church.

Jeanette Swint Jones

Jeanette Swint Jones, 65, of Griffin, died Saturday, Sept. 11, at her residence.

She was born in Fulton County on Nov. 8, 1938. She was a member of the Milner Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, David Lamar Swint.

Survivors include her husband, A. Carey Jones Jr. of Griffin; sons and daughters-in-law; Dana and Dena Jones of Zebulon and David and Tammy Jones of Griffin; daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Gene Smith, Jenny and Frank Fenn, and Lara and Chris Davies, all of Griffin; grandchildren, Madison Smith, Samantha Smith, Sarah Jones, Garrett Jones, Emma Jones, Asa Jones, Ian Jones, Lydia Bingham, Joshua Bingham, Mary Fenn and Caleb Davies; and mother Maude Baldwin Swint of Griffin.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the Warren Haisten Memorial Chapel, with the Revs. Alec F. Thompson and Dale Rush officiating. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruby Swafford

Ruby Swafford, 86, of Jonesboro, passed away Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at 11:30 a.m. at the Tara Garden Chapel in Jonesboro with the Rev. Fred Whitehurst officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, East Point. The family will receive friends Monday from 3 to 7 p.m.

Survivors include her daughter, Jane Liles and husband Raymond of Jonesboro; Barbara Collier of Jonesboro; sister Mable Noles of Riverdale; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Tara Garden Chapel, 681 North Ave., Jonesboro, is handling arrangements.
