The Morrow Middle School eighth grade volleyball team ended a Kendrick winning streak which had extended back more than two seasons. Morrow (25-16, 14-25 and 25-14) beat Kendrick in a match that went three games. Estellena McFarland scored several points for Morrow en route to the match victory. Lazaria Fillmore combined for 6 aces in the first and third match, both victories for Morrow. Malashia Chandler also had six aces and accounted for 13 points in games one and two for Morrow. In seventh grade matches, Kendrick swept 25-19 and 25-20. Despite the loss, Morrow got solid play from Shani Chandler, Jessica Miller and Kala Lewis. In game one, Lewis had 11 points and five aces for Morrow. MD Roberts splits: The M.D. Roberts volleyball team split with the Mundy's Mill Razorbacks. The seventh grade team lost 25-13 and 25-19. Janel Harris improved on her passing game and the team showed progress on the court. The eighth grade team won their third match in a row against Mundy's Mill (25-21, 25-17). Jasmine Parker psssed well and had an aggressive game with six kills. The team improved its syle of play to a more aggressive tempo, which will be needed for the county tournament. The Rams take on Babb Middle School next week. No other scores or details were reported to the Daily.
