By Todd DeFeoChick-Fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy will be signing copies of his new book, "It's Better To Build Men Than Mend Boys," from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble in Morrow.
In the book, released this month, Cathy lays out a simple model for readers desiring to build children into responsible adults. Using stories from his own experiences as a father, grandfather and foster granddad to more than 135 children, and as a Sunday school teacher, Cathy illustrates the principles of discipline, trust, reputation, generosity, common sense, peer pressure and family stability. "If we choose not to build children with discipline but instead wait until they're adults to ?fix' them, the best we can do in many cases is to put a Band-Aid on a severe wound," Cathy writes in the book. Cathy has authored two other books n 1989's "It's Easier to Succeed Than to Fail" and 2002's "Eat Mor Chikin: Inspire More People." In 2002, he co-authored "The Generosity Factor" with Ken Blanchard.
