Edward Madison Standridge, 75, of Locust Grove passed away Thursday, March 31, 2005, at his residence.
He was born July 17, 1929, in Fulton County to the late Joseph Daniel Standridge and the late Ollie Bessie Turner Standridge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Barbara Couture Standridge in 1993, his son, Edward Madison Standridge Jr., in 1991, and by five brothers and one sister. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, worked for Colonial Bakery Stores for 33 years, and was retired after 18 years with GBA. He was a member of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church and was an avid hunter.
Survivors include his daughters, Sue and Michael Waldrop of Locust Grove, Theresa and Bruce Wood of Sodus, N.Y., and Marie and Michael Peeters of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Jeff, Randy and Kevin Jackson, Dennis and Christopher Wood, and Brianna Peeters; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley and Joe Cash of Stockbridge, Ophelia and A.C. Davis of Cumming, and Mildred (Mick) Warren of Alpharetta; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 4 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Father Michael Sherliza officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit the family from 6 to 8 p.m. today and Sunday, April 3 at the funeral home.
