The Lovejoy Wildcats' baseball team has been playing its baseball of the season.
They kept up the hot streak Monday night rallying to beat Region 4-AAAAA rival Newnan on the road Monday.
With the victory, Lovejoy is 1-1 in league play, and has now won three out of the last four games.
Lovejoy pitcher John Weaver was one of the heroes of the game, going the distance from the mound and also contributing with the bat.
His homer in the sixth cut the Newnan lead to 3-2.
In the seventh, Johnthan Gree scored on a Newnan walk to tie the game agt 3-all. Then Wever came through again to score Drew McKibbin with a base hit.
Second baseman Phil Davis helped spark the Wildcats' defensive effort with some solid fielding.
In the botton of the fourth, Newnan left men stranded at second and third, and failed to score in the bottom of the fifth after startiing the inning with a lead-off triple.
Lovejoy returns to action Wednesday at home against Starr's Mill.
