Union Grove picked up a big win Wednesday by beat East Coweta 8-7. East Coweta was the Class AAAAA state runner-up last year. The winning pitcher was Jeremy Riehn who pitched the complete game with one strikeout. He allowed 10 hits, seven earned runs, five walks, and two hit batsmen. Riehn is now 5-1 on the season. The offense was led by Cole Williams, who hit what turned out to be the game-winning homerun in the top of the seventh. Micah Archer went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a sacrifice for an RBI. Ryan Clark went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Michael Wear went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a double and an RBI. Union Grove is now 9-6 overall and 3-1 in Region 4-AAAAA. The Wolverines play host to Fayette County Friday at 7 p.m. Landmark 5, ELCA 2: The Eagle's Landing Christian baseball team couldn't overcome six errors and it proved costly as the Landmark War Eagles won 5-2. Brian Moss went the distance for the Chargers from the mound, striking out five batters. Offensively, Doug Campbell finished with a hit and an RBI and Bradley Eady scored a run to pace the Chargers' offense.More like this story
