Mae Mitchell Granger

Mae Mitchell Granger, 57, of McDonough, Ga., died Sunday, April 17, 2005.

She was born in Atlanta, Ga., to Wylie Thomas and Janie Mae Sellars Mitchell. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and a beloved sister, aunt, and true friend that showed her love for Christ in her daily life.

Mae Granger is survived by siblings, Wiley John Mitchell of Forsyth, Ga., Frances Brown of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Donna Jane Mitchell of McDonough, Ga.; several nieces and nephews; and a very special great-niece/granddaughter, Grace Voss. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Aubrey Mitchell, and sister, Juanita Mitchell Bunn.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with the Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Gwendolyn Paul

Carswell

Mrs. Gwendolyn Paul Carswell of Sharpsburg, Ga., died at Mt. Carmel Personal Care Home in Hampton, Ga., April 18, 2005.

She was born April 3, 1937, in Shellman, Ga. She was the daughter of Ernest Lee Paul and Sarah Noralee Conley Paul. She was a member of Jonesboro Ward The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A chapel service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2005. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Survivors are daughter, Wanda Daly of Jonesboro; sons, Ed Carswell and Jennifer of Sharpsburg, Jerry Carswell of Paulding County, and Greg Carswell and Angie of Jonesboro; sisters, Bobbie Porter and Pete of Athens, Winell White and Ray of Florida, Jackie Hazelrig and Charles of McDonough, and Anita Short of Shellman; brothers, Walter Paul and Lanell of McDonough, Charles Paul and Doloris of McDonough; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Agueda Angela Abreu

Mrs. Agueda Angela Abreu, 63, of McDonough, passed away Monday, April 18, 2005, at her residence.

Angela was born Feb. 5, 1942, in Cuba to the late Bernadino Gonzalez Cabanas and the late Bartola Ortega Gonzalez. She worked in the cafeteria at Pates Creek Elementary School and was a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Adam Abreu; children, Janet and Ron Anderson of McDonough, Pavel and Paula Rodriguez of Hampton, and Carlos and Julissa Rodriguez of Senoia; and grandchildren, Tara Rodriguez, Aiden Anderson, and Emilio and Ricardo Rodriguez.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2005, from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. The Rev. Marti Slife will officiate. Friends may visit the family Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Edna Layson

Mrs. Edna Layson of Forest Park, Ga., passed away April 17, 2005.

She is survived by her husband, Marcus Layson; daughter, Elaine Ward; son, Richard Layson; grandchildren, Gary, Richard, Mary, Jr., Jody, and Chris; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday from Ward's Parkway Chapel. The Rev. Tom Miller will officiate. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 19, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m.
