FBI looking for bank robber

The FBI is requesting the public's assistance in identifying and locating an armed serial bank robber who has now robbed his ninth bank in the metro Atlanta area.

On Monday at approximately 2:45 p.m. the Wachovia bank located at 6389 Jonesboro Road in Morrow was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money by an armed individual brandishing a silver semi-automatic handgun, according to Gregory Jones, special agent in charge of the FBI office in Atlanta.

During the robbery, the robber approached the teller while carrying a bank deposit slip in his hand. The robber dropped a black plastic grocery bag over the counter and then pulled out a silver semi-automatic pistol and demanded money.

The robber is described as a black male, approximately 25-35 years of age, 5-foot 8-inches to 5-foot 11-inches in height, 150 to 175 pounds. He was wearing a white Texas baseball cap with orange bill, light colored button down shirt and dark tinted glasses.

This same man is a suspect in several other bank robberies in Marietta, Smyrna and Austell. A reward is being offered for information leading to his identification and arrest. Anyone with information can call the FBI's Violent Crimes Squad at (404) 679-9000.
