On Monday at approximately 2:45 p.m. the Wachovia bank located at 6389 Jonesboro Road in Morrow was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money by an armed individual brandishing a silver semi-automatic handgun, according to Gregory Jones, special agent in charge of the FBI office in Atlanta.
During the robbery, the robber approached the teller while carrying a bank deposit slip in his hand. The robber dropped a black plastic grocery bag over the counter and then pulled out a silver semi-automatic pistol and demanded money.
The robber is described as a black male, approximately 25-35 years of age, 5-foot 8-inches to 5-foot 11-inches in height, 150 to 175 pounds. He was wearing a white Texas baseball cap with orange bill, light colored button down shirt and dark tinted glasses.
This same man is a suspect in several other bank robberies in Marietta, Smyrna and Austell. A reward is being offered for information leading to his identification and arrest. Anyone with information can call the FBI's Violent Crimes Squad at (404) 679-9000.
