From Staff Reports
The way Henry County pitcher Amber Harrell performed Thursday afternoon for the Ladyhawks., it certainly didn't look like the opening game of the regular-season. In fact, Harell looked in mid-season form as the Ladyhawks beat Eagle's Landing Christian 4-0 in the first game of the season for both teams. Harrell finished the game with a no-hitter while striking out 17 batters. She only walked three. Nikki Bradford had two hits to pace the Ladyhawks to the victory. They also took advantage a couple of wild pitches and walks. Eagle's Landing Christian begins its second season as a member of the Georgia High School Association. The Lady Chargers are ranked seventh in the first gasports.com high school coaches poll. The Lady Chargers won't have too much time to worry about their season-opening loss. Saturday, the squad travels to Gordon Lee to take on the defending Class A state champions. Henry County returns to action Tuesday against Dutchtown, another Henry County rival. Eagle's Landing Christian pitcher Hope Rush had a solid varsity debut. The freshman struckout seven despite the loss.More like this story
