Mrs. Louise “Susie” Hayes of Jonesboro was promoted to Glory from Riverside Health Center in Covington on November 29, 2005. To know her was to love her. She was the daughter of the late Grady David Gibson and Dora Dunn Gibson, born April 27, 1923 in Pike County. Before moving to Jonesboro in the early 60's she lived in Griffin and was employed by Dundee Mills. She was a member of the Salvation Army in Griffin. She was the wife of the late Ernest Shelton Duncan and William H. Hayes.
She is survived by her daughters, Ruth F. Smith and Brenda Joann Rogers of Jonesboro; son, Ronald David Duncan and wife Brenda, of Adamsville, TN; sisters, Catherine Hart and husband W. L., Betty Dunn and husband Thomas of Griffin, Aileen Buffington and husband Jerry of Zebulon; brother-in-law, Fred Casey, Griffin; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Her body will lie in rest at Horis A. Ward's Tara Chapel with funeral services being held Friday, December 2, 2005 at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. Major Cecil Sellers with the Salvation Army in Jonesboro will officiate. The family will receive friends TODAY from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
