Tomato truck overturns off I-75

A tractor-trailer carrying thousands of pounds of tomatoes was involved in a one-vehicle accident late Tuesday night, according to police reports.

Henry County police spokesman Lt. Jason Bolton said a Peterbuilt tractor trailer was traveling north on Interstate 75 in the right lane prior to the accident.

"The driver indicated a small passenger vehicle had entered into his lane," and to prevent striking the vehicle, the tractor trailer exited the interstate on the Exit 216 ramp, Bolton said. The trailer then overturned, Bolton said, while attempting to make the sharp turn on the exit ramp. According to the police report, the incident occurred around 10:45 p.m.

Reports indicated the truck belonged to Joe's Trucking Company based out of Tennessee. Bolton said no injuries were reported. The report did not indicate whether there was any interference with traffic.
