Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill canceled a banquet for sheriff employees scheduled to be held Saturday at the Georgia International Convention Center. Hill said the cost of the banquet was the motive for the cancellation. Money would have been used from an employee account traditionally used for an annual Christmas party. Harlan Miller, the attorney for the 23 recently promoted deputies, said the cancellation came after he sent a letter to Hill asking for the reason his clients were not permitted to R.S.V.P. Hill said the move was not an attempt to retaliate against the employees who have a federal lawsuit pending against him.More like this story
