A 14-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with a mild head injury following a fight at Mt. Zion High School Thursday afternoon, police say. The first of two fights broke out among students waiting for the school bus at the school around 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Clayton County Police Capt. Jeff Turner said. As the school's student resource officer was attempting to stop that fight the second fight started, and that fight led to the 14-year-old being kicked in the head. The 14-year-old suffered an abrasion to the head and was taken to Southern Regional Medical Center. Nobody was arrested in connection with his injury but a 16-year-old Jonesboro boy was arrested and charged with simple battery in connection with the first fight. Their names were not released because of their ages.More like this story
