Several local basketball players have definitely made their mark at the Division I level during the 2004-05 season.
While former North Clayton standout Anthony Rice is closing out his collegiate career at Memphis as one of the best 3-point shooters in school history, Auburn's Toney Douglas has emerged as one of the top freshmen in the nation.
Rice and Douglas haven't been the only former local players who have stood out this season as 2003 Stockbridge graduate Quin Humphrey is leading Youngstown State in scoring.
Here is a glance at former are players who are at the Division I level this season.
Lovejoy's Josh Barker, a sophomore, averaged 9.8 points and 3.1 assists for Savannah State this year.
North Clayton's Josh Brewster, a freshman, is averaging about nine minutes per game at Alabama State.
Jonesboro's Toney Douglas has been one of the top freshmen in the nation this season at Auburn. Douglas ranks sixth in the SEC in scoring with 16.9 points per game. He averages 5.3 rebounds per game.
Mt. Zion's Karl Hollingsworth, a junior, is averaging 9.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game at Stetson.
Stockbridge's Quin Humphrey, a sophomore, leads Youngstown State and is seventh in the Horizon League in scoring with 14.4 points per game. He's also averaging 5.3 rebounds per game.
Riverdale's Chris McFarland, a senior, is having a solid year. He is averaging 9.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game this season for the Mountaineers at Appalachian State.
Former Eagle's Landing student J.R. Pinnock, a sophomore, is averaging 13.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game at George Washington.
North Clayton's Anthony Rice, a senior, is averaging 10 points and 2.8 points per game at Memphis.
Mt. Zion's Terrence Woodyard, a senior, is averaging 4.5 points and 2.9 rebounds per game at Western Carolina.
Morrow's Kirby Copeland, a sophomore, is averaging 8.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game at Virginia Tech.
North Clayton's Kim Jordan, a sophomore, is averaging 1.2 points per game at North Carolina A&T.
Riverdale's Dominique Philpots, a freshman, is averaging 3.4 points and 2.4 rebounds per game at Tulane.
Riverdale's Jessica Williams, a junior, is averaging 4.5 points and 7 rebounds per game at Georgia Tech.
