Mr. Lawrence P. Woolf Jr., 76, from Jonesboro passed away Friday, Jan. 14, 2005.
Mr. Woolf served as a Marine Corps corporal. He served in World War II in Japan. Mr. Woolf is retired from Jonesboro Housing Authority and served as an inspector for HUD. Mr. Woolf was a member of Parents Without Partners and a former volunteer for the Jonesboro Fire Department. He was an artist and founder of the Clayton County Arts Alliance. He was also a retired school bus driver for Clayton County School System after 30 years of service. Mr. Woolf's family will receive friends for visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial services are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16 at the Pope Dickson & Son Funeral Home Jonesboro Chapel. Interment will follow at Jonesboro City Cemetery. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Neil Taylor from Stockbridge; daughter, Lane Woolf Ganyard from Jonesboro; son, Larry Woolf from Monticello; former wife, Mary Bearden from Stockbridge; faithful cat, Lucille; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
