The Clayton County Board of Commissioners will meet at a special-called meeting Friday to appropriate funds for the Gateway Village hotel bonds. Issuing the bonds for a Hilton Hotel and Convention Center in Morrow was a tenuous process over a year ago when commissioners said they were concerned about how the bonds would be repaid. The hotel would have to maintain a 65 percent occupancy in a 150-room hotel to pay back the bonds. If it couldn't, the county would have to make up the shortfall. Notice of the meeting was given late Thursday afternoon. The meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Administration building, 112 Smith St., Jonesboro.More like this story
