The Jonesboro Lady Cardinals were hoping to close out their regular-season schedule this weekend with a pair of victories against Region 5-AAAA foe Mays on Friday and Lovejoy in a non-region on Saturday. The Jonesboro girls are currently ranked second in Class AAAA after several weeks at No. 1. The threat of icy weather forced Saturday's Lovejoy game to be canceled and Friday's contest to be postponed until Monday. The girls' game starts Monday at 5:30 and the boys' game tips off at 7:30 p.m. South Atlanta's game at North Clayton was also postponed Friday night. As of Friday night's deadline, Saturday's games between North Clayton and Riverdale was still on. The Clayton County Middle School tournament was expected to complete its first-round boys games Friday night. A decision about whether to resume the middle school tournament Saturday will be made based on road conditions early Saturday morning. In Henry County on Saturday, Eagle's Landing Christian's game against Atlanta International has been postponed. Henry County's game at Jackson has been postponed until Wednesday.More like this story
