Due to the threat of inclement weather on Saturday, the Clayton College & State University NCAA Division II men's and women's basketball games scheduled for Saturday evening (Jan. 29) have been postponed until Sunday. The Laker teams will now face the University of South Carolina-Aiken in Peach Belt Conference action on Sunday, January 30th, beginning with the women's game at 2 p.m. and the men's contest at 4 p.m. Clayton State Athletic Department officials decided to postpone the contests, since meteorologists are predicting icy conditions Friday evening and Saturday with an 80 percent chance of freezing precipitation on Saturday for the south metro-Atlanta area. Both the Clayton State's men's and women's basketball teams are coming off impressive wins Wednesday at Armstrong Atlantic State University. The women's team, currently in second place in the Peach Belt, defeated AASU 69-67 and will enter the contest with a 13-5 overall and 5-2 mark in the league. USC Aiken, the top team in the North Division of the PBC, will enter the contest with a 14-6 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the league. USCA defeated UNC Pembroke 69-54 Wednesday. The Clayton State men, winner's of nine of its last 11 games, are coming off a 63-59 win at Armstrong State. The Laker men are also 5-2 in the league, tied with Columbus State and Kennesaw State for the top spot in the PBC South Division. The USCA men will enter the game with a 6-10 overall record, a 2-4 mark in the PBC and are coming off a 80-68 win over UNC Pembroke on Wednesday.
