Bruce Davis of Morrow, Ga. passed away Sunday, July 24, 2005 at Southern Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 27 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Morrow with the Rev. Stephen Cook. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Morrow City Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Davis of Morrow, Ga.; daughters, Barbara and Willie Williamson of Marietta, Ga. and Kathy and Lee Toreno of McDonough, Ga.; grandchildren, Manse and Leigh Waldrop, Dana and Wes Williams, and Katie Toreno; great grandchildren, Laken, Lauren and Laney Waldrop. He served in the US Air Force for 20 years. He was a WWII Prisoner of War and veteran, a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Morrow and Southside Kiwanis. F. Porter Phillips
F. Porter Phillips, of Fayetteville, Ga. passed to his heavenly reward July 24, 2005. Born in Henry County, Georgia, Mr. Phillips was retired after 25 years with Fulton County Board of Education. He cherished his family and his church, having served for several years as a Baptist minister. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Moselle Hicks Phillips, and four daughters, Joanne Caldwell, Sara Lawrence (George), Pat Stanfield (Hulan) and Betty Belin (Jake); seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at Stockbridge First Baptist Church at 3 p.m. With remains placed in state at 2 p.m. Rev. Bill Barner and Rev. Steve Murell will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 26 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Carl J. Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City. Interment Flippen Methodist Cemetery, Flippen, Ga.
