The old is new again, if you haven't watched it - Zach Porter
The other day, I was discussing movies with my editor and the subject came around to W.C. Fields in The Bank Dick . I had reluctantly seen the movie at the persistence of my friend Scot some years ago. I was dreading the viewing, wondering how a mumbling man with a bulbous nose I can still remember imaging how red his nose would have looked in color could actually be my cup of tea. Needless to say that I loved the film and it paved the way to old Hollywood for me.

Transforming free samples into fine dining - Justin Boron
Tiny tastes of meats, cheeses, trail mixes, chips, and dips are the supreme indulgence of bulk shopping. The smaller-than-appetizer-sized portions are no doubt delicacies.
Searching for stories on summer days - Bob Paslay
We are fond of saying that news slows down in summer, and news organizations scramble for enough fodder to fill the always eating machines like 24-hour news. So when does Elvis appear or at least when does Elvis get coverage for appearing? The summer. When does Bigfoot come out of the swamps and finds reporters waiting to interview him?
Shame and the first time around the block - Michael Davis
I am ashamed. Thoroughly ashamed.

Pets of the Week
Nadia is a 2-year-old, female Dachshund. She has been spayed and all vaccinations are current. For no reason at all, Nadia's former family gave her up because they no longer wanted a dog. Nadia is friendly and affectionate, and gets along well with other dogs and cats. She appears to be housebroken. Due to her very small size, Nadia will not be adopted into a home with very young children. For more information, please call Clayton County Humane Society at (770) 471-9436. Visit www.claytoncountyhumane.org to see other animals available for adoption.
