From Staff Reports
One of these days, hopefully today, the Henry County and Eagle's Landing Christian Academy baseball teams will finally get to play their best-of-three semifinal baseball games in the Georgia High School Association state tournament. Both squads have been trying to get their series played since Monday, but four straight days of heavy rain have prevented the contests from taking place. Eagles Landing Christian Academy is set to play host to Mt. Paran in the Class A tournament, while Henry County travels to Heritage for the Class AAAA tournament. Both playoff series are scheduled as doubleheaders today with the first pitch set for 5 p.m. The third game of each series, if needed, is scheduled forSaturday. Eagle's Landing Christian, which advanced to the Class A tournament in its first year as a member of the Georgia High School Association, would play Calvary Baptist Day School next week in Savannah for the Class A state title. Henry County would play at Lee County for the Class AAAA title.More like this story
