mdavis@henryherald.com A makeshift memorial had sprung up Sunday at the site of a crash in which one teen was killed and six others injured in a late-night accident over the weekend, Clayton County Police said. Montrice McMillian of Hampton was killed, and his six teen-age passengers, all between 13 and 16, were injured in a one-car crash on Crystal Lake Road between College Park and Riverdale just before midnight Friday, said Clayton County Police Capt. Tim Robinson. McMillian, 16, was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck that struck a mailbox and then collided with a tree, he said. The truck apparently belonged to the boyfriend of McMillian's mother, Robinson said. "According to the mother, they were unaware they had taken the truck," he said. According to passengers, Robinson said, McMillian and several teen family members took the truck and picked up three other teens. While traveling east on Crystal Lake Road at a high rate of speed, according to a police report, passengers urged McMillian to slow down. When he hit the brakes, he lost control and left the roadway. Robinson said two of the passengers remained in critical but stable condition as of late Saturday evening. Others were treated and released.More like this story
