Michael Lamar Herring

Michael Lamar Herring, age 43, of Stockbridge, Ga. passed away June 21, 2005 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Michael was born Dec. 1, 1961 in Macon, Ga. He graduated from White Oak High School in Jacksonville, NC and Georgia State University. While in school he was employed by Winn Dixie Food Stores for seven years and then 18 years as a supervisor for JCPenney Catalog Distribution Center in Forest Park. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Riverdale.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie; son, Justin; daughter, Kristen all of Stockbridge; parents, Bob and Faye (Kitchens) Herring of Jonesboro; uncles, Doyle Kitchens of Dry Branch, Rick Kitchens and Dennis Herring of Macon; aunts Carol Payne, Barbara Hester, and Sara Moore all of Macon, Martha Sellers of Juliette; great aunts, Geraldine Woodward of Gray and Carolyn Tyson of Warner Robins; numerous cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Horis A. Ward Tara Chapel in Jonesboro on Friday, June 24, 2005 at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Randy Wood officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Rosie Lee McWhorter

Rosie Lee McWhorter, age 78, of Jonesboro, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2005. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Tom Puzder and Donna and Randy Miller; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Frankie McWhorter and Kenneth and Kathy Jo McWhorter; grandchildren, Scott, Kim, Jason, Shaun, Kelly, Gary, Miranda and Sarah; and great-grandchildren, Grayson, Liam, Brandon, Lindsey and Hunter.

The funeral services were held Saturday, June 18, 2005 at 4:30 p.m. at Pope Dickson & Son - Jonesboro Chapel with the Rev. Gaines Wise and the Rev. Mike Close officiating. Interment was at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

John Francis Mulhern

John Francis "Trey" Mulhern, III, 34, of Fayetteville, Ga. died June 21, 2005. He was an honor graduate of Jonesboro High School Class of 1989. He enjoyed basketball and golf. He attended Auburn University and Georgia Southern University. He is survived by daughter, McKenzie Mulhern; parents, John and Pam Mulhern of Fayetteville; sister, Melissa Mulhern of Newnan; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Salmon of Weaver, Ala.; aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Fayetteville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Interment Camp Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
