Bobbie Jean Ballew
Bobbie Jean Ballew of Stockbridge, Ga. and formerly of Forest Park died Wednesday, June 22, 2005. She is survived by her husband, John L. "Pete" Ballew; daughters, DeAnna and Kenneth Bickford of Callahan, Fla., Linda Cason of Alma, Ga., Cynthia Lynn and Keith Taylor of Alma Ga., Katherine and Paul Huber of Seaside, Calf., and Cynthia Ballew Brown; sons, Timothy and Larie Smith of Dallas, Ga.; sister, Marion Fenton of Flowery Branch, Ga.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 290 of Forest Park.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 25, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the chapel with Rev. Charles Huggins officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Thomas Scroggs Funeral Directors with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Michael Lamar (Mike) Herring, age 43, of Stockbridge, Ga. passed away June 21, 2005 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Michael was born Dec. 1, 1961 in Macon, Ga. He graduated from White Oak High School in Jacksonville, N.C. and Georgia State University. While in school he was employed by Winn Dixie Food Stores for seven years and then 18 years as a supervisor for JCPenney Catalog Distribution Center in Forest Park. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Riverdale, Ga.
He is survived by his wife, Laurie; son, Justin; daughter, Kristen all of Stockbridge; parents, Bob and Faye Herring of Jonesboro; sister, Debbie and Tony Shaw, nephew Matthew Shaw, step-niece, Ashley Shaw all of Stockbridge; step-niece Danielle Tatum of Riverdale; father and mother-in-law Larry and Diane Milam; brother-in-law Randy Milam all of McDonough; aunts, uncles, many cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at the Horis A. Ward Tara Chapel in Jonesboro on Friday, June 24, 2005 at 11 a.m. with the Dr. Randy Wood officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge.
