Mr. Robert Henry Hammock, age 74, of McDonough, died June 25, 2005, at Sacred Journey Hospice. He was born July 3, 1930, in Locust Grove, the son of the late Ruby Lee Crumbley and Henry Carson Hammock. He graduated from McDonough High School, class of 1948, retired from the U.S. Navy with 20 years of service, was a member of the Locust Grove First United Baptist Church, Yaarab Temple of Atlanta, Morlite Lodge No. 105 F & AM, and retired from Eastern Airlines as a ticket agent. His wife, Nora, preceded him in death in 1998.

Survivors are his daughter, Nora Margaret Silba, of Escondido, Calif.; siblings, Hazel Gardner, Mary Jo Leverette, Ann Gardner and Larry Hammock, of Locust Grove, Bill Hammock, of Huntsville, Texas, Jimmy Hammock, of Stockbridge, and Linda Branan, of McDonough; three grandchildren, Amberlyn, John and Heather; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mr. Hammock will be Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Swofford and Rev. Dan McKay officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the service. Haisten Funeral Home - McDonough (770) 914-8833.



Gary Emory Williams, age 42, of Locust Grove, passed away June 26, 2005.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Emory Lamar and Carole Williams, of Hampton; mother, Saundra Williams, of Jonesboro; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dale and Aaron Faulkner, of Fayetteville, Deborah and George Hobel, of Pineville, N.C.; stepbrother, Richard Shirley, of Hampton; and stepsister, Sonya Queen, of Stockbridge.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Ford-Stewart Funeral Home, Inc. Jonesboro/Stockbridge (770) 210-2700.
