Katherine Lewis Nix
Mrs. Katherine Lewis "Bobbie" Nix, age 91, of Locust Grove, formerly of Forest Park, passed away Feb. 25, 2005 at Nurse Care of Buckhead in Atlanta. Mrs. Nix was born June 3, 1913 in Oconee County, S.C., to the late Henry Tarlton Lewis and the late Mamie Emilisa Whitmire Lewis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Walter Nix, in 1969. She was a retired waitress and was a member of Ash Street Baptist Church in Forest Park. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Patricia Nix, of Locust Grove; grandsons, Douglas L. Nix, of Locust Grove, and Gary C. Nix, of Pike County; great-grandchildren, Jennifer L. Fletcher, of Jenkinsburg, and James Daniel Nix, of Forest Park; great-granddaughters, Macee S. Nix and Lennox A. Nix; and great-great-grandson, William Low Swisher IV.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Pickens, S.C. Haisten Funeral Home of McDonough and Dillard Funeral Home of Pickens, S.C., are handling arrangements.
Mr. Dave Ferrell, age 69, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Lord Ferrell, of Jonesboro; children, Teresa Jones, of Newnan, and Rhonda Dearing, of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Brandon Ferrell, Todd Dearing, Kyle Dearing, Reba Jones and Starr Jones; sister, Gloria Jean Ferrell Webb, of Jonesboro; brothers-in-law, T.O. Stowers, of Elberton, and Curtis Jones, of Alpharetta; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Allen Swafford and the Rev. Ken May officiating. Burial will be in North Atlanta Memorial Park. Louie E. Jones Funeral Home, 59 Main St., Alpharetta. (770) 475-6554.
Mrs. Jean Remmark, age 63, of McDonough, passed away Feb. 26, 2005. She is survived by her husband, Bill Remmark, of McDonough; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Chris Morris, of Jackson; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Candace Remmark, of Dacula; brothers, Gary Bishop, of McDonough, and Ronnie Bishop, of Turtle Town, Tenn.; and grandchildren, Colin, Hannah, Amanda, Kody, Patience, Tasha and Jeffrey.

Asa B. Smith
Asa B. Smith, age 91, of Stockbridge, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005. He was born in Cumberland County, Tenn., to Granville and Frances Martin Smith. He served as a Merchant Marine and was a retired truck driver.
Asa Smith is survived by his wife, Mildred; daughter, Linda Longino, of Fayetteville; son, Charles Keith Smith, of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Jeffrey Longino and Michael Longino, both of Fayetteville; and two great-grandchildren, Asa and Addison Longino, both of Fayetteville.
