Donnie Cannon, age 46, of Locust Grove, died Sunday, march 19, 2005. He was born in Duluth to Alfred Lee and Betty Eugenia Moon Cannon. Donnie was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley, feeling free in the open outdoors. He enjoyed camping with his family and NASCAR racing. Most of all, he was a loving father with a kind and generous spirit with a sense of humor.
Survivors include his children, Amanda and Chris; his companion, April Skinner, and her children, Dylan and Lacey Linderman; parents, Betty and Alfred Cannon; siblings, Tim (Lillie) Cannon, Ginger (John) Kilman and Christy (Mike) Campbell; and niece and nephews, Lindsey and Jake Kilman and Noah Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the Donnie Cannon Trust Fund established for his children at any SouthTrust branch. Mr. Robert Mitchell Carmichael, age 54, of Locust Grove, died March 20, 2005 at Southern Regional Medical Center. He was born in Henry County, the son of Annie Ola Branan Carmichael and the late Boyd Carmichael. Robert was a member of Salem Baptist Church, graduated Henry County High School Class of '68, and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing and the beach.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Carmichael, of Locust Grove; children, Robert and Lorie Carmichael Jr., of Woodstock, Kevin Carmichael, of Locust Grove, and Kattie Carmichael, of Lawrenceville; mother, Annie Ola Branan Carmichael, of McDonough; grandchildren, Jake Booth, Brittany Carmichael and Emma Carmichael; sisters, Carol Ann Hassler, of McDonough, Sherry Floyd, of Locust Grove, Angie Rebuelta, of Jackson, Carmel Simpson, of McDonough, and Julie Fordham, of McDonough; and sister-in-law, Bennie Carmichael, of Jackson. Funeral services for Robert will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Rick Statham and Rev. Josh McClendon officiating.
