Allgood

Mr. William R. "Bill" Allgood of Lovejoy died Sunday, March 20, 2005.

Survivors include his wife, Annette L. Allgood of Lovejoy; children, Bernice and Calvin Eaves of Austell, Andy and Nancy Allgood of Leesburg, Tracye Allgood of Monroe, Ga., Brenda and Tim Welch of Mableton, Becky and Toma Gjurashai of Warren, Mich., Stacy Allgood of Peachtree City, and Amanda and Brandon Benson of Smyrna; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services begin at 3 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 22 at the chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son with Dr. J.W. Wallis and Dr. David Chancey officiating. Interment will follow at Westview.

Rosie Mae Patterson Buchanan

Mrs. Rosie Mae Patterson Buchanan, 81, of 3982 Anvil Block Road, Ellenwood, Ga. passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, March 19, 2005.

The funeral service began at 2 p.m. Monday, March 21 from the chapel of Horis Ward Funeral Home, 376 E. Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Ga. Coggins Funeral Home of Thomaston, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements. The Rev. Ralph Easterwood officiated and Mrs. Buchanan's nephew, Dennis Debes, spoke. Interment followed next door at Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Buchanan was first married at age 14 to J.W. Owens, with whom she had a daughter, Dorothy (Dot Baker), and two sons, Jerry and Larry. Son, Jerry deceased in 1990. After Mr. Owens passed away in 1955, Rosie married Cal Buchanan, Mr. Owens' best childhood friend. Rosie and Cal had one son, Buddy, whose daughter, Candice Wolff, resides in Tampa, Fla. Buddy is now deceased. Mrs. Buchanan was a member of Glen Haven Baptist Church, McDonough, Ga., and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 6330 in Jonesboro, Ga.

Mrs. Buchanan is survived by Dorothy (Dot Baker) and her husband, Clay Baker, of Stockbridge, Ga., and Larry and his wife, Kathy, of Conyers, Ga.; brother, Mr. Vernon Patterson of Woodstock, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews

Don Hanson

Mr. Don Hanson, 57, died Sunday, March 20, 2005, in a Griffin Healthcare Facility.

Mr. Hanson was a native of Clayton County, but had made his home in Pike County for a number of years. Son of the late George Alvin Hanson, he was a Vietnam Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Hanson was retired as a Machinist from the St. Regis Paper Company in New York.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, March 22 in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in The Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Ga.

Survivors include his mother, Nellie Mae Hanson of Conley, Ga.; stepson, Andrew Eugene Pride of Stockbridge; sisters, Charlotte Little of Stockbridge and Connie Hope Cash of Stockbridge; brothers, Calvin George Hanson of Conley, Ga., Lenard Hanson of Conley, Ga., and Todd Wayne Hanson of Panama City, Fla.
