Marion Beatrice


Mrs. Marion Beatrice Crumbley, 80, of McDonough, formerly of Newton County, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005.

Mrs. Crumbley was predeceased by her parents, Adolphus Marion Calvert and Essie Beatrice James Calvert, and her husband, Jack Albert Crumbley.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions are made to Harvest Point Methodist Church Building Fund, 909 Eagle's Landing Parkway, Suite 140-301, Stockbridge, Ga. 30281.

Survivors include her daughter, Ms. Polly Blackwell of McDonough; stepdaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Plez (Dianne) Dukes of Milner; sister, Mrs. Dot Weldon of Covington; grandchildren, Ms. P. Wyn Miller of Warner Robins, Mr. D. Louis Hadden of Macon, Mr. and Mrs. Terry (Gina) Tardy of Milner, and Mr. and Mrs. Russell (Shannon) Butler of Griffin; niece, Mr. and Mrs. Nick (Gay) Day of Covington; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26 from the chapel of Hartwell Funeral Home with Dr. Steven Usry and the Rev. Ron Cook Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Carmel Cemetery in Mansfield, Ga. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service or anytime at the residence, 1958 Kellytown Road, McDonough, Ga.

Margaret Tweedell Dickson

Mrs. Margaret Tweedell Dickson, 97, of McDonough, Ga. died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at her residence.

Mrs. Dickson was born March 28, 1907, in DeKalb County, daughter of the late Nancy and William Tweedell. Mrs. Dickson was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, and in her earlier years was in the retail business. She was a member of McDonough United Methodist Church. Her husband, Gordon Eugene Dickson, preceded Mrs. Dickson in death in 1972.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Snelling of Tucker, Ga.; grandchildren, Sherry Richardson and David Peet; great-grandchildren, Nancy Guillory, Stephanie Peet, Jessicah Peet, Carrie Richardson and Tony Richardson; niece, Gladys Perry; nephews, Jack Tweedell, Omar Tweedell and Charles Young, and other numerous nieces and nephews outside the area.

Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. Monday, March 28 at the McDonough First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mack Riley officiating. Interment will follow in the McDonough City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 27 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Jewell Arlene


Mrs. Jewell Arlene Brewton, 88, of Stockbridge passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2005.

She was a member of Union United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by husband Bige Brewton.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Obie and John Sapp of Forest Park; sister, Edith Dickerson of Waverly Hall, Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Jimmy Knight of Wrightsville, Ga.; sister-in-law, Imogene Mauldin of Macon, Ga.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services begin at 3 p.m. Friday, March 25 at the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. James W. Hood officiating. Interment follows at Jones Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
