The Southlake Kiwanis Club will be holding auditions for its 27th annual Talent Showcase.
Students in public and private schools with talents for singing, dancing, instrumental music and comedy are encouraged to try out for the contest on April 2.
The auditions will be held at Mt. Zion Elementary School on Mt. Zion Road between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and all acts should sign in by 11 a.m. Each act will be judged according to skill and audience appeal.
A piano and tumbling mats will be provided but the students must provide any other tapes and supporting props. Tapes and CDs for musical acts must not contain any lead vocals. The acts must be limited to no more than four minutes in length.
Acts are divided into elementary, middle school and high school categories and participants in all categories will receive plaques. The top three finishers in the high school category will receive United States Savings Bonds for $500 for first place, $300 for second place and $200 for third place. Group acts will split the savings bond.

The Talent Showcase is scheduled for April 16 at 7 p.m. at the Clayton County Schools Performing Arts Center in Morrow. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for students and free for pre-school children.
