A 7-month-old girl nearly drowned when left alone in a bathtub for "less than a minute," police said. The girl, Tyra Furlow, was in the care of her grandmother, 38-year-old Audrey Barron, at an apartment in Belmont Crossing Apartments on Ga. Highway 138 near Riverdale when the incident occurred around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Clayton County Police Capt. Jeff Turner said. Barron was bathing Tyra when the phone rang in another room. "She went to answer the phone, was gone for less than a minute, came back and the baby was submerged in the water," Turner said. Barron called 911 and began performing CPR on Tyra, reviving her some. The baby was airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston where she was expected to recover. Authorities said there would be no charges.More like this story
