Dorothy Tucker Putnam of Jonesboro, Ga., born Sept. 14, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., passed away Thursday, May 19, 2005.
Mrs. Putnam resided in Clayton County for 70 years and was a graduate of Jonesboro High School. Mrs. Putnam was the first female Court Administrator in the state of Georgia and the first Clayton County Court Administrator and served Clayton County for 40 years.
She is survived by her three sons, Mr. William E. Putnam Jr., Mr. Robert and his wife Cathie Putnam, and Mr. Michael and his wife Lynne Putnam; six grandchildren, Mandy (Amanda), Robert, David, Melissa, Chelsea, and Loran Putnam.
The visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The funeral will be on Sunday, May 22 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Jonesboro with the Rev. Charles Landreth officiating. Mrs. Putnam will lie in state at 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
