Mr. Robert A. Strawn Sr., 82, of McDonough passed away Friday, May 20, 2005, at Emory University Hospital.
He was born May 30, 1922, in Henry County to the late Loy L. and Una Raulerson Strawn. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Strawn in 1994, a grandson, Bryan Strawn, and a brother, David Strawn. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was retired after 33 years with Snapper.
Survivors include his wife, Emily M. Strawn; children, Martha Gasses and Joyce Joyner, both of McDonough, Susan Hargrove of Stockbridge, and Bob Strawn of Fitzgerald; stepchildren, Donna Johnson, Diane Sims, and Stevie Spratlin, all of McDonough; seven grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; brother, Loy Strawn Jr. of Macon; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, May 22 at 4 p.m. from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary DeMore and the Rev. Philip DeMore officiating. Interment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Friends may visit the family from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
