A van struck a 12-year-old Jonesboro Middle School student who was walking home from school Tuesday afternoon. "The little boy was running across the street near the entrance to the school without looking," Jonesboro police Officer Mark Carpenter said. A woman driving a 1988 Plymouth Voyager at about 25 mph looked up and saw the boy, but it was too late, Carpenter said. The boy was responsive at the scene and was transported to Southern Regional Medical Center, he said. There are no charges at this time.More like this story
